  ​Alyssa Berman-Cutler, Director, Community Economic Development Initiatives, The University of Chicago

"The Local Business Support Initiatives of The University of Chicago"








Alyssa leads the Office of Civic Engagement’s community economic development efforts in the mid-South Side neighborhoods near the University of Chicago, including UChicago Local, the University’s live, buy and hire local program.   She also leads the Polsky Exchange’s community  outreach.

Alyssa previously served as executive director of Uptown United, a community development organization in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. She also worked as a zoning and land-use attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Chicago Law School.


Monthly Membership Meeting held by Chatham Business Association, Small Business Development Inc. are held to inform current members and prospective members about issues and activities going on in Chatham and the City of Chicago.  You do not need to be a member to attend.  Breakfast is provided for a small fee.
