Land of Lincoln "Employees coverage Options under Fair Labor Standards Act"
Presenter: Brian Porter, Education and Outreach Analyst for Land of Lincoln. As part of the Affordable Care Act, employers are required to provide current employees and new hires with written notice of the availability of the Health insurance Exchange. The Department of Labor has issued temporary guidance and model notices that employers may use for this purpose. Current full-time and part-time employees must be given the notice by October 1, 2013. Employees hired on or after October 1, 2013 must be given the notice within 14 days of their start date.
“Small Business Advocacy Council”
Presenter: Elliot Richardson, SBAC CEO & Past President for Small Business Advocacy Council. Legislative initiatives, which are laser focused on creating a better environment for small business. The Small Business Advocacy Council is a new organization of 650 small and mid-sized businesses, actively engage in shaping public policy to reflect the interests of small and mid-sized businesses.

Monthly Membership Meeting held by Chatham Business Association, Small Business Development Inc. are held to inform current members and prospective members about issues and activities going on in Chatham and the City of Chicago. You do not need to be a member to attend. Breakfast is provided for a small fee.
